October is our busiest month, but Gretchen and I had an unexpected opportunity to go out for dinner last night. We decided to try Nona Mia in West Asheville, which means My Grandmother in Italian. I knew this was the place for me when I saw a pasta dish made with “Sunday Gravy” on the menu. Any Italian American from New England will know that this means tomato sauce!
We sampled two salads, homemade ravioli and a Neapolitan Margarita pizza. The food was delicious! The pizza crust was flavorful and tender – no jar sauce to be found, just fresh tomatoes. The ravioli was homemade and yummy. We can’t wait for dinner tonight – leftovers!
